Luke the Hackburglar Harding Update!

Last issue, our readers alerted us to a highly suspicious case of hackburglary by Guardian correspondent Luke Harding, who has already been cited in our paper for writing hackiliciously identical articles to those published by Kevin O'Flynn, the Moscow Times' resident soccer hooligan.

Thanks to our readers' letters to us and to The Guardian (where they are being read and recorded, so it's not a waste of your time), justice does have a chance. Just as this issue was going to print, we spoke with the Guardian's ombudsperson, Siobhain Butterworth, who is still in the middle of conducting her investigation. Ms. Butterworth is a former in-house lawyer at The Guardian, which may seem like an odd choice for a newspaper's ombudsman, but she assured us that her investigation was absolutely impartial.

Thanks again to our readers' vigilance, you folks will be in for some free T-shirts and free "Ten Years' Wasted" posters. Our motto is, "No justice, no peace!" It's also "somos pocos, pero locos," and "thufferin' thuckutash," and a bunch of other things we forgot, but that's besides the point.

Our "Vigilant Reader Letter O' The Week" prize goes out to a reader who signed his letter, "some guy who wants a t-shirt." The letter quotes an article written by none other than Luke Harding two years ago about...you guessed it!...an author who got busted for plagiarism. How's that for eye-rah-knee?! Here's the headline and web address:

Bestselling German author stung by plagiarism claim

One of Germany's most successful authors, Frank Schatzing, was facing the claim yesterday that he lifted large chunks of his latest blockbuster from the internet...
